Avatar and podcasting

As one of the ways we can make videos of our classroom projects without showing our real identities, we will start using Avatars. I will have students read their short stories while video taping their faces.

Check out this Avatar that I made using Logitech camera!

If you have pictures you are wanting to share with family and friends, here is a excellent tool called Animoto. Easy to use and fun!

Students could create many interesting pictures and put them to music using this tool.

Here is a sample of what Animoto can do with your pictures.

Screencast

Screencasts:

Here is a rough screencast I made by using screencast-o-matic

This is an interesting tool that I think will be very useful in the classroom. Many times I need to repeat technology related directions because my students are all working at different levels. This is a very helpful tool.

Outstanding Parent/Teacher Conferences

Wow, I am so excited and thankful with all the parents, aunts, grandparents, sisters, brothers, and etc., which attended this week’s parent/teacher conferences. We had a great time discussing school work, behavior, motivation, state testing, blogging, wikis, and Internet safety. It is a great feeling to know that the parents are behind the teachers supporting them in the many decisions that are made within a day. It is also the teacher’s privilege and honor to support the parents. We work together as a team and it shows.

As the upcoming months go by, I would like to share my thoughts and opinions on several subjects. This is a blog and I welcome your responses and comments.

Looking forward to keeping you updated and informed.

November

October has been a learning month with blogs and wikis. The students are writing continuously on their articles for the newspaper. It has been great to watch them collaborate with each other. They are an inspiration to watch. This week at parent/teacher conferences I will have a lot of information to share.

Great job students!
